credit card control
When you’re buying things for home it can be pretty easy to go overboard! You might start out picking up a picture frame or two, then find a great deal on a new stool or ottoman, and then before you know it you’ve got all new living room furniture picked out! Whoa … slow down there. Not paying cash today? Charging it to your credit cards may seem like the thing to do when you’ve found a great deal on something your home needs. But, with interest rates that great deal could turn into paying double over time!
And the last thing you want to do is use your credit card to fund a new business that may or may not work. Not that I know anyone that has done that or anything (hides behind curtain!) I finally got that debt paid off, and we actually still have a credit card in case something were to happen and we would need money quickly for gas, groceries or emergency travel arrangements.
If you’re going to have one, choose it wisely. Go for lower interest rates and watch out for those pesky annual fees! Read the fine print, you’d be amazed what you’ll find in there as far as fees, charges, ifs ands or buts! Use it wisely and express control and it can be a great tool, and even improve your credit score in the long run if you make your payments consistently.
