planning for one month easy tip
Here’s a quick tip that I try to do whenever I can ~ Pick 8-10 meals that you know you and your family will enjoy. Purchase everything in triplicate, in other words you want enough to make 3 of each meal. This makes prepping go really fast, and you can throw the prepared items in the freezer in 2 gallon ziploc bags, or in foil baking pans for use when you’re ready. Make sure you label them all or you’ll be eating the same thing three nights in a row!
Even if you just do double of everything that will get you through most of the month. Or start small and pick 3 meals your family really likes, buy everything for 3 of each. That will give you 9 freezer to oven/stove/crockpot meals ready to go at a moments notice for those nights when you just aren’t sure what to make for dinner or when your short on time.
And don’t think that your meals need to be extravagant, fancy, or over the top recipes that take hours just to prepare. It can be as simple as prepared turkey sloppy joes that you can toss into the crockpot on Saturday while you’re out having fun! Grab some veggies and a salad when you get home and ta-da you’ve got dinner in just a few minutes after getting home, and it’s way better than stopping at a drive-through window and grabbing whatever the #2 special is.

This is a great idea. I think I’m going to try one chicken recipe, one beef recipes… and do this for the next 3 weekends so I kinda build up to it. I get overwhelmed if I have to cook 8 meals at once even if it’s just once. Have you ever checked out http://www.flylady.net? I’ve been on her listserve for several years and she has some great time saving ideas too.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
