what time is it?
I think I have expressed my hatred for the sound of ticking in the past. Clocks drive me insane. Literally. The sounds of a loud ticking clock will turn me into a certifiable being for sure. So, I’m sure by now you have guessed that I don’t wear a watch. I have owned watches, and worn watches. But they have to be quiet watches. I think my favorite was my Marvin the Martian watch. Even though it was a regular hand movement watch, it was quiet and I couldn’t hear a sound from it. Of course as it got older it got louder and that was all for me, no more wearing of that watch.
I’ve had many a suggestion over the years for watch wearing needs. A pocket watch of course is a good alternative, because if it’s in my pocket I can’t hear it! For a long time I had a clip on style pocket watch that hung on my purse. It was nice and it was a cute ladybug, but when that sucker was open it was loud. Eeek! I’m told that some of the high quality watches such as Panerai are fairly silent in their ticking. But, I’d just rather not wear a watch really. Especially if I’m spending a lot of money on it I would feel bad when I let it die never to tick again!

My wife is just the opposite. She loves clocks. We have several annoying ones around the house.
I’ve never managed to feel comfortable wearing a watch. My favorite watch is my cell phone, really.
