do you slanket?
What’s a Slanket? This is a Slanket! Well, this is my Slanket before I took it out of the package. A blanket with sleeves. Perfect for us blogging crazy folks on a chilly fall night. Perfect for me with my never ending bronchitis the past month! You can lay down, snuggle in and get cozy in bed, on the sofa, in the recliner, on the floor, wherever you want to sit at and cover up with your Slanket. But don’t worry about your arms and shoulders being cold like with a regular blanket. Slanket has sleeves! You just poke your arms through the sleeves and you can read, type, video game and channel surf as usual only warmer.
I’ve used it quite a few afternoons and evenings while typing away on the laptop from the comfort of the living room. Brian laughed when my Slanket first came off the UPS truck. “Why does it have weird sleeve things in it?” That lasted until he was watching football on Sunday afternoon and feeling a bit chilly after eating popsicles with the kids. Oh yeah, now Slanket is his best friend. I think I’m going to have to get another one actually because he really likes it. My oldest son likes it because he can lay on the chair and read his book and not get the direct chill from the AC vent that’s in the corner. Of course he wants his own too, but he’ll just have to share for now. He even tried to snatch it from the living room and take it to bed with him. Sneaky little thing.
I’d give you a picture of me all snuggled in with my laptop and my cup of tea in the evening, but I’m the camera holder and I doubt you want to see me in my constant state of bronchitis so instead I’ll show you this lovely picture of someone I don’t know, but who is equally comfy using her Slanket on the sofa with laptop poised and ready to type away at her blog!
What brought about the creation of a Slanket in the first place? A college student on a chilly night wanted to channel surf and be warm at the same time while watching late night television. Over his holiday break that year he had his mom help him with the sewing and ta-da the first Slanket came to be! Slanket and it’s company and people are all about being simple, everyday, normal people with the urge to be comfy. It doesn’t get much better than that I think. I’m comfy. Are you?

This seriously has to be the BEST. INVENTION. EVER. I need one for this winter!

I would be interested in trying to make one of those for D. Also, so sorry you are sick. Fuller is sick too. Not a fun time of year.

Oh my goodness… I want one of those!!

This is a great find. I used to have one of those comforter things that snapped all around you like a cocoon, but this looks lighter and would allow me to be more mobile. Good one!

Oh wow. I could really use one of those! Right now I’m sitting here semi-wrapped in my blanket and it keep falling off. That looks like it stays on. I WANT ONE!

It is a pretty cool invention
Thanks Alli, every time I think I’m getting better I get worse. Back to the doctor again soon.
Ohhh I used to have one of those cocoon things, it drove me crazy! Wouldn’t stay snapped. This is definitely way more efficient!
LOL Yup it even stays on through touchdowns and hubby jumping out of his seat!

that IS a great invention! I love it, and as I type and shiver, I am sending my envy into cyberspace…

Dang it! I’m envious! That’s a very clever idea. I’m sure the inventor will make a mint if he can get it out there fast enough. Not sure it can be copyrighted, though(?)

Hey that’s great stuff! I love it! I’d love to buy one too. There were times during winter that I would have to work on my computer in the wee hours of the morning- like 1 or 2 am, to about 4 am- and good lord, I’d be freezing my arse off! I’d take my blanket and everything with me, much to the disgust of my husband!

someone’s gonna make a chunk on that idea. i should have thought of it myself! shoot! what a great thing!
