I’m not a bad person, I don’t have the plague, and I’m not a mass murderer … what the hell?
I just got charged $25 because I couldn’t get the box from our new TV into the dumpster. I’m so pissed off about this, and I’m seriously starting to feel like they just don’t like us or something. I know that sounds absurd.
But the maintenance guy watched me drag the box to the dumpster by myself yesterday morning. He was putting fallen branches in the dumpster. I said good morning to him, he snubbed me and walked away. I was actually going to ask him to help me but he stormed off all fast. Then walked around the corner and watched me from up the road trying to fit it into the dumpster. It didn’t fit into the opening on the side. I tried to lift the lid on the dumpster, but couldn’t because jerkwad had the pole to lift it in his hand.
He was watching me the whole time, I turned to and motioned for him to come over and he turned his back to me and walked away. It was almost time to go to the bus stop with the boys so I went back inside to get them and get them to school, leaving the box within the dumpster enclosement thing next to the dumpster.
That box sat there all day yesterday and most of the morning today. Today the other maintenance guy came and lifted the lid on the dumpster and put the box in. Then just now came to my house and handed me the notice for the violation and fee.
I feel like an outcast. People glare at me like I have the plague. I’m crying over trash. WTF? We’re nice to everyone, my kids are nice to everyone, I clean up after my dog when she shits … what the hell am I doing wrong? I’m I that socially inadequate? I have an icky feeling that tells me my lease won’t be renewed come summer no matter if we want to stay or go.
I’m probably just extra emotional at the moment …. I don’t know, ugh. Just ugh. I want to go scream and throw things. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I have the urge to retreat and run away … and at the same time the urge to just go destroy something pretty.
I’m ready to retire young and move to Bloomsburg … time to buy some lottery tickets?

Alot of places aren’t owned locally… if they have a corporate office, find it and call them. That’s ridiculous. While you’re at it, take their notice of violation and tell them to shove it up that maintenance man’s ass.

Those guys are just big loser-ators, jealous of your new tv.

Aw, hon - I’m sorry! I totally understand feeling like that! Those rotten stinky jerky buttheads! That is so not cool that he totally watched you and then fined you for it! O. M. G.

yes i agree with cass. they are all jealous! i also agree with jenn. get on the phone when it’s fixed and get hold of their superiors. better yet, get a lawyer and get him to write a letter on your behalf. i bet everyone will change their tune then.

I’d write a complaint letting them know that their employee ignored you when you requested his assistance.

they are just plain mean! Karma will get back to them in time. You did NOTHING wrong!

I would without a doubt file a complaint with the manager, and the owner (or corp. office)
maintenance staff (or management) that treat renters like you describe should be the ones booted off the property. Not you! James

Yes, write a letter, a formal complaint. That is just crap that he ignored you!

I agree. Every apartment I ever lived in had a management company. You need to write it all down, dates, times, everything, if anyone else who lives in your building might have been watching, the more detail the better. There’s just no excuse for that behavior.

Hi! Hope you are feeling better now… It is Christmas, cheer up ya?
Guess it is just that staff having bad attitude. How’s your the neighbourhood in general? Since you feel like you want to stay there longer, I suppose it is a nice neighbourhood? If so, then just complain that officially to the maintenane, and ignore that rude maintenance guy.
Oh, BTW, I hopped by here to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead… Cheer up ya?!
