christmas gifts = new years resolutions

Did you get any gifts that roll into your new year’s resolutions? I’ve been hearing a lot of people saying they got exercise equipment, treadmills, stair machines, new weight sets, New Balance walking shoes and all those good things. I guess that’s okay of you ask for those particular items, but if I got those gifts without requesting them I might be offended a little bit. Like you think I’m in need of more exercise — which I am, so maybe I wouldn’t be too offended after all. These gifts are a nice supportive boost for those getting healthy resolutions we all tend to make. It’s nice to have the moral support of your family and friends, and it’s nice to have the proper fitness equipment and footwear. It’s the using of the stuff and meeting the goals that’s hard work.

I got a scale for Christmas, but I asked for it and picked it out! I would have been offended had I not, though.

  2. Andrew Says:

Totally. I got me a a brand-new Xbox 360 with all the trimmings (games, extra controllers, wireless network, etc.). It was exactly what I wanted, and well, I bought it for myself heh. But my resolution would be to actually make time to play the damn thing on a semi regular basis.

I got a spa gift certificate from a special someone and it was something I wanted. I didn’t ask for it, but it was much needed and ties into one of my resolutions: take breaks from work and control stress levels :)
