Watching How to Look Good Naked

I know I don’t usually talk about TV shows and stuff on this blog, but I think this one was good enough to mention and I think the majority of you will appreciate this particular new show. It’s about women, and how we see ourselves. We are often our own worst enemy. I highly recommend watching the new show on Lifetime How to Look Good Naked very good, and he has a great visual activity that shows us how we actually don’t see our real self when we look in the mirror or think about our weight.

The activity …. you’re standing there in your bra and undies. There is a line of 5 or 6 other women in their undies also. You were asked what part of you is that you feel is the most problem, or the biggest, or whatever. Of course most are going to say hips, stomach, etc….

You’re asked to place yourself in the line where you think you belong among the women, they’re a of different measurements and lined up smallest to largest. So far no one has taken the right spot in the line. The last episode I watched the woman placed herself in the line assuming her waist was 6 inches bigger than it really was. Six inches is a lotttttt.

Of course then it’s a makeover show and you go get your hair done and stuff and one of the cool things they do is a bra fitting with a professional to get you in the right sized bra. Most women don’t wear the right size bra, and watching this you get to see the transformation and huge difference that it can make just by putting on the right size of bra!

Anyhow …. you’re going to love it. It’s a real eye opener at how we see ourselves versus what is really there. There are two new episodes tomorrow (Friday) at 9:00 EST. Watch it if you’re not doing anything. You can also watch some episodes on the Lifetime website.

The only thing about various T channels that I don’t like is there seem to be a lot more commercials, or they are spread out differently or something. And the commercials are repetitive, like you’ll see the same auto insurance commercial five times during one half hour tv show, or my personal favorite is the “as seen on tv” type of mini informercials for space bags and kitchen gadgets, sometimes you see the same commercial twice in a row … that drives me bonkers.

I totally watched it on a whim, didn’t expect much, I was just bored. I was soooo impressed, I really did love it.

  3. Jules Says:

Tyra Banks did a similar show like this. In fact, my sister in law was on the show!

I remember seeing that show and her doing interviews about it and saying that women are the meanest people on earth towards other women, even when they’re friends — so true.
