crazy long weekend

It’s been an interesting long weekend here. Brian (DH) pinched his sciatic nerve, spent some time in the Patient care center, and came home with a pile of medication for it. Thank goodness it was a long weekend. He did miss work Saturday morning though, that’s when he was at the Patient care place. He had been having back pain all week prior to it, and it got progressively worse. When he got up Saturday morning it took him a good 20 minutes just to stand up from the bed and he got dressed and his dad came and took him for the xrays and stuff. His blood pressure was high again, but that’s a whole other rant like post to make… he can’t take a bp med because he has gout. Fish oil and garlique help, but it’s still high and he often forgets to take them. Anyhow…

Then there was me with my half flu, I don’t know what the heck is the matter with me thing. It’s flu-like, but it’s not…. I don’t know what else to call it. Me feeling like I got run over by a truck seems fitting. I’m finally starting to feel a little better today and I’m working on getting caught up on some work.

Noah and Lucas got in a fight … the physical kind with hitting and pushing and pulling and throwing and Lucas ended up with a little bit of a gash above his eyebrow and blood all over his face. Noah threw a toy at his face, and then when he realized he hit him in the face and it was bleeding he went and hid and yelled “I didn’t do anything!” Guilty much? Kids. Ugh. They don’t usually fight physically like that, usually they are just bickering and arguing. What a weekend.

But leading into an interesting week. Brian is consciously trying to lose weight. We do have a gym here in our rental community. Okay, it’s not really a gym, more like a room over by the swimming pool area with some exercise equipment in it. There’s a treadmill, elliptical, and one of those bowflex looking things. And I think one other machine, I can’t remember what kind though. And I guess I am going to go too … spousal support and motivation or something. My legs hurt just thinking about that elliptical.

Find the Time Mama

You love being a mom. It's one of the best things in the world and you'd never turn it in for any other life. Me too!

But, there's no need to strive to be Super Woman or to put on any fronts that's it's all a breeze. Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.

Now is the time to get your Find the Time Mama guide and start making changes.
