A moment to brag….

I am such a proud mommy. My 9 year old Lucas is in 3rd grade this year. He has never had it easy when it comes to school work. He is generally a C student at best. Learning to read was a day to day struggle for him, now he reads beautifully.

He has amazing determination. All his teachers adore him and say his strong point is his determination, he won’t take no for an answer, he won’t quit until he reaches his goal, and he has this fascinating ability to put puzzles together picture side down! But, he wanted more. He wanted so much to be on the honor roll like his big brother. First semester he brought home a report card of B’s and C’s and one A. He loved that A. Still not enough for Lucas, he wanted honor roll this year and he was determined to get it. So he worked even harder. And he DID IT. Lucas Xavier Oliver made the honor roll this semester.

I was admittedly in shock on report card day. He came busting through the door waving the envelope in his hand and proclaiming, “me first!” He was so excited, so proud. The only time I ever saw him so gleaming was the day he was awarded his purple belt in karate. A beautiful moment for my beautiful boy.

My boys continue to amaze me every single day with their strength, their courage, their minds and their hearts.

  8. Thanks :) My boys visit funbrain too, it’s one of the links the school gives out. Not sure if they’ve been to starfall, I’ll give it a peek!

  9. Congrats, Lucas! Hard work pays off. Getting that first Honor Roll shows that he can do it, so I know he’s going to keep working extra hard to do it again. Great going, Lucas!

Find the Time Mama

You love being a mom. It's one of the best things in the world and you'd never turn it in for any other life. Me too!

But, there's no need to strive to be Super Woman or to put on any fronts that's it's all a breeze. Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.

Now is the time to get your Find the Time Mama guide and start making changes.
