making me a priority again

I’ve been a little burnt out on everything lately. I haven’t been sleeping much at all. The house is a pigsty despite everyone’s efforts to pitch in. I’ve been working a lot, but not focusing. I haven’t been eating anything good, or even remotely closely to good for me. I’m pretty sure Coca-Cola and Mac-n-Cheese isn’t the best diet plan… nor was the greasy chinese food we had at that buffet a few days ago.

Today was the breaking point for me. I drew the line in the sand and made a decision. Friday’s are going to be claimed days off. From now on Friday’s will be internet free. All three computers will be turned off. If I want to blog on Friday I’ll schedule it ahead of time. I will take extra shower time on Friday. We will have a nice and healthy dinner on Friday. I will get out my crafty stuff on Friday! Fridays will be for Fun. (Fun Friday …. hmmm)

That it is. It has been declared, you are my witness.
If you see me online on a Friday, please kick me.

now convincing the family that this is necessary is a completely different story…..

Great idea! I’ve been thinking of something similar, in a smaller scale, as next week is spring break for the kids. Hmm… Maybe scheduling posts and only working for eMoms each day, but, only until 12 - or something…hmm.. Gosh, you know that will be so unbelievably hard for me! What would be cool is, if the kids are busy with friends, but, it’s still ‘no work’ time - I could actually read books!!! Wow! What a concept!

You have a WP database error on the right column and beneath it, as a single column…if that makes sense. Could be my wacky computer!

What a great idea! I generally don’t blog on Saturdays and on Sunday I only work on my radio show, no blogging. We all need at least one day off from our thoughts!

Way to draw a line in the sand and take a stand! That is awesome. I don’t know if I could take a whole day off with no computer! That would be really hard! I know it would be good for me but just really hard.

Kudos to you & good luck getting the family to see and understand your reasoning behind this decision.

But, there's no need to strive to be Super Woman or to put on any fronts that's it's all a breeze. Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.
