zwoozle? zwizzle? Zwaggle!

I’m sure that I don’t have to tell you that just about anything for kids will cost an arm and a leg at the store. And it’s getting more expensive every day. Heck, just the other day I took the kids to Target to get new socks and underwear. That was all we bought, underwear and socks. My total bill was around $120. For underwear and socks. Ugh.

Then there are shoes. In just the past 6 months I’ve spent a good $275 on shoes for little feet. And $0 for shoes for my feet! But, they have to have shoes! Shoes are important for lots of things. Keeping your feet covered, dry, and most of all supported. So I won’t skimp on the shoe buying. And of course in true little boy fashion two of the boys have difficult to find sizes.

Then there’s clothes and toys. Urgh. I’m sure you already know that hand-me-downs are my best friend. But with four very different little boys that are in different growing patterns, it just doesn’t always work out how I would like. So, what’s a girl to do? Zwaggle of course. Zwaggle is sort of like freecycle, but it’s more combined and it’s full of wonderful children’s things to swap. There’s clothing of course, but there is also furniture and DVD’s and all sorts of things that make a kid’s life fun and interesting.

So, how’s this Zwaggling work? First, you sign up. That’s free of course. Then you post your kid’s outgrown no longer needed stuff. You’ll earn Zoints (zwaggle points) for everything you pass along – plus extra karma points for keeping those things in circulation and out of the landfill. Likewise you can find things that your munchkins need that other families don’t need anymore. Delivery of items can happen in a bunch of different ways, depending on what the person offering it up can do. Items can be picked up, dropped off, and even sent off on a FedEx truck.

That’s it. Easy peasy. Saving money, meeting people, keeping things out of the landfill. It’s all zwaggley good :) For other cool kid stuff hop by the PBN blog and see what else other parents are talking about.
