It’s snowing ~ oops fakeout!

The other morning we were awoken by shouts of, “It’s snowing! It’s snowing!” The wind was blowing really hard, I could hear the branches brushing against the windows. Ethan was making a mad dash from his bedroom, down the stairs and shouting the whole way with extreme zeal. I thought for sure it must be snowing. Ethan is obsessed with snow, almost as much as he is obsessed with ducks. They are his two loves.

I get up and do the usual, run to the bathroom, wash my face, pull my hair back and come downstairs to make a pot of tea. Ethan is wildly rushing around the front hallway putting on shoes and a coat. Next thing I know he flies out the patio door. I hadn’t really looked yet, but I didn’t feel any gust of cold air when he went out the door, in fact it was rather warm in the house I didn’t even grab my fleece robe on the way downstairs and I know I hadn’t turned on the heat during the night. Maybe Brian did, I thought.

I’m heading out into the living room and Ethan throws open the patio door and starts taking his stuff off, “That is NOT snow!? There’s no snow.” and he’s mumbling to himself about snow. I looked out the glass to see…. little white flowers falling from the trees and scattered all over the ground like over sized snowflakes.

In Germany it’s snowing too. 5 month no snow. Last night i had to drive about 20 mps due to massive snow fall. Today the sun is shining. I think this is a result of global warming.
