Happy first weekend of Spring

Happy Easter to those celebrating Easter as well. It’s a beautiful sunny day here in Newport News, Virginia. I’ve got some things I want to finish up for work this morning and then later this afternoon we’re hoping to head over to Busch Gardens for a little while. We haven’t got any big plans today, no big family dinner, no trips up north. Just an average relaxing Sunday with the boys. We don’t typically have a big Spring/Easter celebration but the boys do get baskets.

We made a trip to the Dollar Tree to get candy, can’t beat the Dollar Tree for bog boxes of candy for $1 and they have all sorts of goodies other stores never have. Like Black Crows! I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw full sized boxes of Black Crows on the shelf. If you don’t know what I’m talking about Black Crows are like Dots, only instead of fruity flavors the whole box is black licorice. Personally, I find that flavor icky and gross, but Ethan loves it. He’s more than happy to finish off those black jelly beans you don’t want. He’s going to be excited when he opens this box up and realizes what it is!

Check out the baskets…. which they haven’t been allowed to dig through until everyone has had their breakfast -lol-

So whatever you’re celebrating or doing today take a moment to be thankful for the little things. Little smiles, snuggly kitties, sunny afternoons at the park. And remember that our world is not a perfect one, we are at war, our children’s idols are in drug rehab, and we’ve polluted our atmosphere beyond repair. Your day is what you make it, positive or negative. Have a great weekend!

Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.

Now is the time to get your Find the Time Mama guide and start making changes.
