7 year old’s sudden dislike for cleanliness

I have a dirty filthy little 7 year old boy named Ethan. I have photographic proof of this fact. Wanna see?

Yup, there he is in all his sticky faced messy glory. The conversation goes like this:

me: Ethan, go get your shower.
Ethan: Nope.
me: Ethan, go get your shower. Your duckie towel is on top of the dryer.
Ethan: Noooooo.

This is where he makes what is known as “the cute face” and runs off giggling. We’ve had this conversation several times in the last 24 hours. Little does he know that his time is running out!! At approximately 8:15 PM Eastern Standard Time he will be getting a shower or a bath whether he wants to or not…… I shall not be defeated by the cute face again!

DUCKIES!!!!!! Awwww he will be so excited!

You love being a mom. It's one of the best things in the world and you'd never turn it in for any other life. Me too!

But, there's no need to strive to be Super Woman or to put on any fronts that's it's all a breeze. Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.
