11 years old

Dylan Thomas Oliver turned 11 years old today. It was a rainy day and he was a little bummed out that the friends he invited over to hang out didn’t make it because of the dreary day. It wasn’t a “party” just some of his friends that he called up and said hey come over and we’ll have cake and play Wii. Very casual.
We don’t do parties for the boys, because well the house is small and I can’t afford 4 big invite the whole class parties every year. We do make the day all about them though. (Except for 10, first double digit birthday gets a full party!) They get to pick whatever they want to do on that day. This year Dylan wanted to stay home, play video games, and hang out with his friends.
Sign number one that your little boy has grown up…. he wants to hang out with his friends more than you on his birthday… and every day. His best friend was over early in the day, but couldn’t stay for cake. They spent some time outside with their skateboards even though it was damp and blech outside.
I didn’t take many pictures, I was back and forth not feeling very well after eating one of the cheeseburgers. My stomach has declared red meat the enemy and we hadn’t made any turkey burgers or boca burgers. Next time I will get my burger out and make it myself instead of taking the chance on my stomach hating me.
