allergic to the world on self portrait sunday

You can visit all the SPS participants at the new home of Self Portrait Sunday ~ Midlife Musings <==

I normally avoid the SPS when I'm in the middle of a flare up.... I'm being brave today. I'm also headed over to the patient care center this afternoon because I want to tear my skin off! Time to bite the bullet and get some steroids and possibly a referral to a good dermatologist in the area. I have had nothing but skin problems since we moved to Virginia.

Did you know that they make a medical id bracelet for allergy to penicillin? I’m allergic to the ‘cillins…. I think I’m supposed to carry a card or a key chain tag or something like that and I don’t. Ooops?

Regardless I’m not going to bore with my tale of woe, the picture tells most of the story for me I think. And this isn’t even the worst day of the itchy redness …. but I’ve had enough awful days this month to want them to be gone, and gone forever. The thicker the pollen gets the itchier and more miserable I get. Those red blotches are painful right now, they hurt, they’re puffy, they’re on my face, my neck, my shoulders, my arms…. well let’s just say from the waist up I hurt and I want to be skinless! Just getting a shower yesterday brought me to tears. I soaked in cortisone and thought today would be a better day… it’s not. So, when Brian gets home from work I’m headed to the patient care to beg for oral steroids, and possibly a shot *eek*

So sorry about the break out! It looks itchy. I’m dealing with itchy eyelids (not eyes, the skin around the eyes) and trying not to give myself a black eye with the rubbing.

As for the medical id, my husband is allergic to penicillin and he doesn’t have one either. It isn’t usually the first choice for antibiotics anymore, so he doesnt’ think it is that big of a deal.

Hope you were able to get some help with the rash.
