a much less itchy self portrait sunday

self portrait sunday sps 4-27-2008If you joined me last weekend you know that it had been a rough week between having the van wrecked (which is still in the garage … getting fixed, not totaled darnrabbit), my allergies being insane, and being forced out of our townhouse for reasons unknown to us. My Self Portrait Sunday pics and post last weekend were of me covered in hives and just plain feeling miserable with a capital M.

This week, however I am pleased to report that I’m not a hive covered, puffy, red, blotchy mess! Woohoo for that! So, here are my non blotchy Self Portrait Sunday pics. The best part of SPS is that I get to play with my new camera settings. The kids complain when I ask them to let me take a bunch of pics in a row with different light settings and accents and things on them. I played with some diffusing options on my flash. Well, you know, the non fancy kind, a piece of tissue, a piece of paper…. my thumb -LOL- I only included one pic here, but there’s a few in my flickr if you’re bored and want to see me making goofy faces while trying to take pictures of myself and hold stuff over my flash at the same time!

Self Portrait Sunday finds it’s home at Midlife Musings and you can hop over there, share a pic of yourself and check out what everyone else is up to this week. I hope to see you there ;)

You do look much happier this week. Glad you’re feeling better. Hives suck. I’ve only had them a couple of times but I was ready to chew my arm off to stop the itching. I like the effects. I may have to try some of that diffusing stuff :)

Find the Time Mama

You love being a mom. It's one of the best things in the world and you'd never turn it in for any other life. Me too!

But, there's no need to strive to be Super Woman or to put on any fronts that's it's all a breeze. Fact of the matter is, being a mom, a spouse, the cook, cleaner, nurse, chauffeur, bookkeeper, event planner, organizer and [fill in the blank with your many duties here] is not always easy. All those roles and duties can really wear you out (even if you love doing them) and make you feel like there's no time left over to do the things you want to do.

Now is the time to get your Find the Time Mama guide and start making changes.
