jealous of the book clubbers
I know a few gals that are in book clubs, and I have to confess that I am a little jealous. I’ve always wanted to be in a book club, but I always chicken out and don’t join because I’m afraid I won’t get to read the book, or that I’ll hate the book, or that people aren’t going to like the books that I suggest for the group. You get the idea, I’m a big ole’ chicken when it comes to joining reading groups!
I did like the suggestion to pick up the audiobooks instead of the books and then listen to them while I’m working on other things or folding laundry, or whenever. I do love that idea, I could just toss it into one of the many mp3 players laying around the house, or even just on the PC and listen to it during the day when the house is quiet and empty! Of course then I might get too distracted and still not get anything else done.
So, is there a virtual book club out there for me to join? I don’t know if I could commit to an in person one right now, lack of transportation and with us moving and everything. My life is virtual, what can I say?

I think you should start a virtual book club. I will be the first member. We can do only online mp3 books that we can listen to while blogging, or on an ipod while doing laundry
and if anyone wants to actually read the real hard bookj, we can stick our tongues out at them and say nyah nyah

Hey, I noticed that you were interested in book clubs, you might want to have a look at http://www.booksprouts.com
It’s a free way to start book clubs online, invite your friends to join, read and discuss books, and organize meetings if you like.
Anyway, if you like it you’ll have to let us know what you think. i’ve just completed this project with a couple of friends who are interested in book clubs and reading as well.
