It’s already been a month, what’s another week…
That would be in reference to the van being at the garage. You may remember Brian being in a car accident last month, hard to believe it’s been a whole month already. And I mentioned that we were supposed to have the van back, Monday they had told us. Well, last Friday they called Brian and said they needed a little more time and to pick it up on Tuesday instead. No problem. He switched his day off from Monday to Tuesday, took the rental car back, and his mom came over early Tuesday morning to drive him over to pick up the van.
If my camera batteries weren’t dead I’d be showing you a picture of a little red Toyota. Yeah, that’s not the van. They gave him this loaner free of charge since they messed up and didn’t call to say it wasn’t ready (again for the millionth time.) This ordeal has gone from, “it will take about a week,” on the day they got the van, to “we need to order a part, so it’s gonna be two weeks,” and now here we are a month later still without a van and them telling us, “a few more days,” every few days. This is beyond frustrating.
Sunday my Lucas will turn 10. We had planned a bowling party, but the bowling alley of choice is temporarily closed for renovations. So, instead he wanted to go see Iron Man on his birthday and head over to Silver Diner for dinner. Sounded good to me. What’s funny here is that the cost of a bowling party for 20-ish kids one hour bowling and food and drinks for everyone …. and the cost of the 6 of us going to a movie and dinner…. is about an even trade! Crazy right? Movie tickets are pricey. Anyhow, the point is we obviously won’t be doing that all together without the van. Brian and the boys will go to the movies, and I’ll stay home. Which, in my current medicated state is probably not a bad thing. It still make my sweet Lucas sad.
They called again today to let him know that it was NOT ready for him to pick up after work like he had planned, and said that it should be ready by next Friday. *sigh and grumble*
