Reviewing EZSchoolSupplies.com
I received a sample package from EZ School Supplies recently. At first I was really excited about this sample. I knew it wouldn’t be the exact school supplies for one of the boys, because it’s just as sample and not a specific “by the list” order.
The box arrived full of goodies:

As you can see, there was a pretty good selection of great school supplies, plus name labels for them! I was definitely impressed with what I received and it all came in a sturdy box to carry it all off to school in. Easy peasy!
Now the first thing I did after opening the box and going through the wonderful supplies was to go to the EZ School Supplies website to read more about their program, their fund raiser options, and of course I intended to shop!
This is about where my disappointment kicked in, I couldn’t’ just shop. My boys schools (yes that’s plural … four kids - three different schools) were not in the system list, and I’m not an admin to create a list and submit it to them .. so it just wasn’t happening for me. I would have loved to be able to create similar kits on the fly for each of the boys. It just wasn’t as easy as they made it out to be on the homepage.
Now, I could shop for individual items and have those shipped right to my door. But, I could not create four individual prepacked totes full of supplies for each of the kids like I wanted to. And since the prices were comparable to other stores, it would be about the same as shopping at the store and coming home to sort everything myself. With our schools not being registered and me not being able to do that on my own, it lost it’s advantage for me as an individual shopper.
On the plus side I did like that participating schools could have their supplies sent directly to the school. I thought that was a great option so that kids don’t have to carry all that stuff to school on the first say, particularly for the younger kids that is a big advantage, and it came with huge savings on shipping. They would hold all that schools orders until about a week or so before school started and then ship them all at one time. Then the kid’s supplies would be there ready and waiting for them.

Hmmm. I just typed in my zip code and not a single school near me is listed, either!

We are constantly trying to contact schools to place there supply lists on EZSchoolSupplies.com. As one can imagine, it is difficult to contact them all, and some are simply “set in their ways.” We endeavor to make school supply shopping for parents easy. Anyone can fax or email me their supply list, and I will make it available online for them (and others) to order from simply by clicking on the school and selecting the appropriate supply pack (EZ Pack). My email is billkemper at ezschoolsupplies dot com. My fax number is 303 858 8839.
