Self Portrait Sunday
It’s been awhile since I played along with Cass and the crew at Self Portrait Sunday.
Okay, so I didn’t take this picture today. I took it awhile ago with all intentions of posting it for SPS that weekend, but of course I forgot that I took it and I hadn’t gotten pictures off the camera in awhile until the other day. I had some files uploading via FTP on one computer and I decided to grab pics off the camera while I waiting on the sequence to complete.
So here I am … this is actually from Brian’s birthday just before we went out to the movies. The kids were playing the yard and I was playing with the settings on the camera trying to learn some new tricks… as you can see from my flickr albums, I’m not doing so great with the photography tricks, but Picnik is pretty helpful in disguising that factoid for me.
The original pic was with me trying to get the color accent feature to pick up something…. anything, was actually hoping for it to pick up the eyeliner I was wearing, but it just wouldn’t grab that color. Some day I’ll get it to snap pictures where the color pops… or maybe it would be easier to just take a pic and edit it to show just a color. Maybe what I really need to practice are my photo editing skills!

Well…I didn’t notice the eyeliner until you mentioned it. But I love the pic anyway. The B&W gives and ethereal feel to it. So even tho it didn’t turn out the way you hoped, it’s very cool.

Gorgeous pic!! I noticed it yesterday on Facebook - it’s lovely!! I did notice that you were ‘wearing’ eyeliner, though not the color of it. If that helps… lol!
