I was marveling at my son’s ability to lose not one, but TWO pairs of uniform pants yesterday morning. We looked everywhere, every drawer, every basket, every hamper and no one could find his uniform pants. He barely made it to the bus, running down the street as the bus drove by the house. He ended up wearing shorts.
I half expected to get a phone call from the school questioning my parenting ability for sending my child to school in shorts instead of long pants on such a chilly day. No one called, but I’m sure someone somewhere was thinking about it.
I twittered about it and joked about the child in our house named “Not Me” that is always the one that loses things, breaks things, and causes general chaos around the house. Janel chimed in with a great story about her mom’s friend putting a Christmas present under the tree for their “Not Me” one year! I managed to not snort my Dr.Pepper out my nose, but it was a close call -lol-

So, I’m wondering just how many houses have the infamous Not Me living amongst them. Share your best Not Me stories with us! Heck, let’s make it a quick blog contest! Post your best Not Me story in the comments here and next Tuesday (November 25th) I’ll pick a random winner to receive $5.00 USD via PayPal. I know $5 isn’t a huge prize, but the budget is slim these days.
This contest is void where prohibited. Open to anyone with a PayPal account.

Oh, I have one of those. “Not Me” left peanut butter finger prints all over my computer screen last night. I’m on to him.

Many, Manyyears ago before either of my 40-something girls became ‘young ladies’, one of them found my tampons quite interesting. When they were confronted, of course each said “It was not me, I didnot do it.”
To this day, I still do not know the one who tore open several of my tampons.
Oh my, I just posted about this the other day! My kids are still too little to play this game, but my hubby sure isn`t. You can read it here: http://www.expatmom.info/the-ghost-did-it/

This past spring I stayed with my Dad for a few months. I also babysat four of my nephews while my brother worked. So there were days when I had the four nephews and my two kids - and with six kids in the house, all kinds of stuff is bound to happen.
And of course, it was always “not me” who broke something or spilled something or messed with the tv or video games or didn’t take their shoes off or put their jackets away or left the door open - you can see I could go on and on.
(PS “not me” always reminds me of the Family Circle cartoon where they had “not me” “I don’t know” and “nobody”. LOL)

In our house, “Not Me” is the one who breaks all of the action figures! We have a whole ward for our disabled superheroes. Who snapped cartoon in half? “Not me!” Who spun Spiderman around by his arm until it fell off? “Not me!”
And if it wasn’t “Not Me!” who did it, then it was his little brother “I didn’t do it!”

great contest idea, but you are of course familiar with the famous character named “not me” from the old Family Circus cartoons, a ghost who runs around doing all the bad things in the house. i am sure that you are, but just in case i thought i should mention it…….
LOL Tsoniki I forgot about “I don’t know,” and “nobody” — definitely have an I don’t know hanging around here somewhere too! I love these stories, keep ‘em coming!

This has been a hot topic around here lately! I can’t think of a specific instance that was particularly funny, but, I am amusing myself with the situation. When my husband is beginning the, ‘Which one of you did this?’ routine on a certain incident - I love to come around the corner and emphatically tell him (with as serious of an expression as I can muster!) “But Mark! You know they’re ALL innocent!”
I’d love to say I have a “Not Me” child in this household, but I don’t think I could handle one right now. I already have a “Not Me” husband! “Not Me” makes a daily appearance, especially when something nasty shows up on my pc or something gets broken. I especially remember when “Not Me” spilled Pepsi on my computer tower, left it, then had no clue what had happened. He did know enough to tell me not to turn it on, then wanted to know how long we had to let it dry before I (not “not me”) could clean it up!
[...] I completely lost track of the days with all that was going on and I forgot to announce the $5 winner from the “Not Me” blog post! [...]
