Customization will of course up the price tag, but with the reduced price you might be able to squeeze a few extras into your budget, or grab a portable hard drive to go with your new toy!

We are looking for a netbook for Allison. This sounds good but as I customized it I brought it up to $410. That and it has unbutu and not windows. I’m still not sure what to buy.

Those add ons add up fast! The next up model of the mini 9 has windows xp on it if you want that, and it might save you on the upgrades to go with that one it starts at 299 base price before the add ons. You might not need as many add ons with that model though, depending on what you added.
I’m a huge fan of the Acer Mini as well. It’s got a slightly bigger price tag on it, but it also more included in the base model that you buy. I’ve actually been going through a pro and con list today to decide between the dell at the awesome 199 price or the Acer Mini at its regular $329 price, and I think I’m going to go with the Acer personally as well.
I love those minis. They are super cool and super cute. I think I might pick one up just to use when I go to the airport…or if I feel like blogging on my couch rather than in the office.

That’s definitely a great deal. I like the minis for a traveling laptop, while my main one with all the important files stays safe at home. The minis can be especially valuable for a freelance writer traveling with the “Go to my PC” software. Great deal on the mini laptops, thanks for sharing!

That figures that I missed this deal. My daughter is getting to the age where she could really use her own computer and this little laptop would have been perfect. Of course if the economy continues to be the same than maybe they will have the sale again soon.
